Thermoash does not release any harmful substances to the atmosphere, or discharges any toxic compounds into the soil. Hence you can use this kind of wood in places such as saunas, kitchens, etc.
However it should not be used as structural component because it may be slightly more brittle than other types.


Thermoash can be oiled, varnished, waxed or stained, like all other natural wood. You need to make sure that these measures have pigment or UV filters to slow down the graying of the wood surface when exposed to sunlight.


Due to the fact that Thermoash absorbs water slowly, for its bonding it is best to use polyurethane adhesives, one or two-component.

Humidity measurement

The only reliable measurement method for the Thermoash is ovendry moisture measurement method.
Conventional electronic wood moisture meters can give results with large errors.

Mechanical processing

Thermoash can be sanded, sawn, polished, like other types of wood.
You only need to pay attention so that the pressure forces are not too large, since there is a risk of cracks, or delamination because it is slightly more brittle.


Thermoash boards must be fastened with screws. Before screwing in the screws, you should always drill holes. Screws should be made of stainless steel.


Thermoash comes in various shades of brown. The color is mainly influenced by the temperature and time of modification. Our equipment is computer controlled, and the temperatures in the chambers are aligned. Even though, there are slight differences between the boards, due to the fact that wood is a heterogeneous material and under the same conditions obtain slightly different shades.
